I have a Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS installed in my laptop model : NEC Versa P9110. Recently i found a bug on the driver provided originally from the CD which cause my monitor can't automatically turn off, hence i decided to download a new driver from Nvidia website. I try to install the new driver but the error occur, here is the error message "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." I have tried alot of ways to solve this problem and googling too still can't found any solution. Anyone know how to solve this kind of problem ?

No! Do not use driver cleaners! Manually uninstall the drivers from Device Manager.

I've used driver cleaners for 5-10 years, especially for the more difficult to remove drivers, without problems. I'm always ready to learn though, please tell us why we shouldn't.

Do you really trust a third-party program to change your drivers like that? Why not just go into Device Manager and uninstall them that way?

Fair guestion, but do you really trust M$ to do it for you? I can't begin to count the times M$ code failed to completely remove drivers. And you're right in one way, I don't trust all drivers cleaners/sweepers. Here's the best I've found, and follow the instructions: Driver Cleaner Professional download from Guru3D.com

Here's the correct drivers for Win 7 32-bit: NVIDIA DRIVERS 186.81 WHQL
for 64-bit: NVIDIA DRIVERS 186.81 WHQL

Many thanks for that link! I have been working with Asus for my G50 Laptop since upgrading from Vista 64 to 64 bit Win 7.

Win 7 does "not like" any of the nvidia drivers from the Asus download site, except for one very outdated driver set. It works, but also gives me PCI/VEN nvidia errors.

I will backup the drive and try a driver from that site.

thanks
