Nvidia driver problems

I have an Intel (R) HD graphics card which cannot play Theatre of War. So I went to the troubleshooting page and they told me to download a nvidia driver.

The nvidia website's scan said I should download 260.99, but the windows compatibility test said 260.89 was the one. Both are for 64 bit.

The problem is, whenever I try to install a driver, it says it is incompatible with windows 7.

Any solutions please? I've been working this for several days already and it's very frustrating.

These are the ones they say will not work:

Mobile Intel(R) 900, 915, 925, 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family
Nvidia GF440MX and earlier
Nvidia GeForce 5600 and earlier
ATI Radeon 9550 and earlier

Good ,You inserted the service tag it came up that you have an ATI radeon card so down load the "5470" driver first , if that fails move on to the next and so on

Since you have stated that you have Intel graphics, the driver you will require is this one: Drivers and Downloads

You could also try a more recent one from Intel themselves, but be aware that many laptop manufacturers take the stock drivers and customize them for their laptops, so this option may or may not work. Well that didn't work because I can't seem to download the driver from that site. All it will give me is the download manager, which does not work.

I assume that you mean the Dell link. In that case, select the option Download via your Internet Browser.

That is correct. How did you get to that page? I dimly recall seeing it once but I can't seem to find it again.

You need to click on Download in the link I gave in my earlier post.

Ya when I click on that it opens the download window for the download manager. If i click cancel on that, it just goes back to the download screen without downloading anything

The problem is when I click on the download button for a driver it prompts me to download the download manager. If I cancel out of that I just go back to the download page without anything happening. The driver never downloads.

Don't forget to click on Save. Never install a driver as you download by clicking Run, but install it once it has downloaded by opening the file location and running it from there.

I did that and it says the driver is not validated for this computer

So you're saying that the driver supplied by Dell themselves, which I located by following the links starting with the link you provided in post #3, is not validated for your computer?

Don't you mean that the driver hasn't been digitally signed?

Ok so it boils down to this:

I've managed to download a file named R268991.exe per your instructions.
It contains an application labeled Setup.exe. When I click on it, the usual authorization window appears. However, instead of redirecting me to the setup window, nothing happens. It's as if I hadn't clicked on it.
