I have a galaxy nvidia geforce 240 in my mobo and im trying to connect it to my 27" crt tv via the hdmi port on the back through a hdmi to component video cable. I hooked it all up but the nvidia control panel doesn't pick up my tv. I think it might be because I have too new of a driver for my video card. Any help finding a driver version that would help me do what I want to do would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

raze5115, welcome to the Seven Forums.

No it isn't your driver that is the problem, it is most likely any of the things shown here,

HDMI To Component

You will only benefit from converting this conversion if your display is able to handle HD, therefore your display needs to be capable of handling 720P, 1080i, 1080p to take advantage of this. Otherwise save your money and use one of the other existing outputs, they should be able to provide the maximum signal your TV can handle.

as well as one of the three options listed at the bottom.

I found out it was the hdcp on my video card that is preventing me from using my tv as a monitor. My tv doesn't support hdcp. My tv is a RCA 27F522T True Flat CRT TV and the cable is just a general hdmi to component video cable I bought off ebay. How do you turn off the hdcp on the video card? I tried to do it in my systems bios but no luck. Then I tried gpu-z but had no luck.

How do you turn off the hdcp on the video card?
Hate to say it but quite simply you don't. If it was that easy to do then there wouldn't be any need for HDCP as everyone would just disable it.

Unless someone has a better idea about the only way I can see connecting a video card to a TV that doesn't have HDMI/DVI/VGA ports on it, is to use the VGA port on the video ard (or a DVI-VGA adapter on the appropriate DVI port) and something like one off these,

Newegg.com - SABRENT TV-PCCT PC VGA to Component TV Display Adapter

to convert the signal to something useable by the TV.

The main problem is that your TV is not an HDTV, just a regular 480i TV that can accept a 480P component signal.
You are still limited to 720x486 (640x480)
