nVidia Geforce 8400 GS

Hi,i want to know if i overclock my graphic card,is it will be damaged or what because there are some games don't work perfectly and is this graphic card good for games and OS

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.
Your graphic card is a low-end graphic card for basic display. This card isn't made for gaming at all; even with overclocking. You will need to afford a new graphic card if you want to play games.

Lebon is correct. I have the same card in my Media Center HTPC. Not for gaming, but great for movies. It even plays blu ray great. But games?. . . . . not made for games. Definatley not an overclocker.

Ok, it may be me, but that seems a lttle complicated, not to mention could easily wreck the card.

GF8400GS are based upon same nvidia reference PCB board design, though always look for 100% match because I've seen 3 totaly different GeForce 8400GS board designs.

I used an MSI Nvidia 8400 GS with 512ram and could play crysis on low spec just fine. without lag. Call of duty 4 runns well also. this is not a great gaming card but if you don't play crysis or bioshock, you should be fine. I just upgraded to an ATI 4850, and i must say, a better graphics card is a must for gaming, but only if you're into it hardcore.

Overclocking is possible throught the Nvidia control panel that you can download off of nvidia's website. it has an auto tune feature that will automatically find the optimal setting. it won't really boost performance that much, but it's noticable.
