Hello everybody!

I have just installed Windows 7 on my computer (in a virtual machine way, using the program Sun VirtualBox) and my graphic card "nvidia GeForce Go 7400" is not recognized by the system.

It tells me that I have a VGA Card.

I have tried to find a driver for this card here: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers but I have not found anything for my card.

Has anyone an idea of where I could find the good driver?

Thanks by advance,

Ephenix.

Your hardware is not accessible inside a virtual machine.

I have the same issue...

I'm on a Vaio VGN-SZ280P with an Nvidia Go 7400:

I partitioned by hard drive to be able to dual boot windows XP and windows 7, but when I boot up windows 7, it doesn't recognize my graphics card. In my device manager for display adapters it lists "standard VGA graphics adaptor" ... so instead of being able to run my native resolution of 1280x800, i'm stuck at 1024x768.

I've read for hours about how to fix this, and most people have just said "install the windows vista driver for your graphics card and you'll be good to go." Well, i've downloaded the vista driver, but when I try to install it, it says that it can't find any hardware to install to

I've also tried booting up the manual hardware addition tool (hdwwiz.exe), but when I boot that up it only finds my intel chipset, doesn't list my Nvidia card.

I have a feeling that this might have something to do with the fact that my laptop has a switch to go between "stamina" and "speed" modes, where the stamina mode runs off of a different chipset. When I do the manual hardware add, it lists several intel chipsets which I recall appearing when I was on stamina mode in XP (however i'm in speed mode currently, so the Nvidia card should show up). Does anybody have any ideas? This is getting pretty frustrating, and I appreciate any input at all!

Thanks!
-Rob

Btw this is the driver I'm trying to install: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista_179.48_beta.html

So i had this graphics card in a vaio sz series and ended up finally figuring out how to make it work...

Here's the link I used: How to get Vista working on your Sony SZ | Trevin Chow

There's a link to an old driver on there which it seems to recognize (it won't recognize the card with the current driver release)

There should be a driver now for nvidia geforce go 7 series on their website.
Haven't tried it yet though...

OP. Please go into your device manager click on your display adapter>properties then details>then under the drop down menu click Hardware Id. snip and post what it says. Their are people here that can identify the code and possibly give you a modified inf file that should allow you to install that card. the Nvidia site provides the 179.84 as the beta driver for you http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista_win7_179.48_beta.html
