Hi guys! I had a problem updating my GeForce, and I was hoping if you could explain to me what just happened:
A friend of mine told me how to update my graphics card driver, and I went to see if I had any updates to do. He gave me the following link:
Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
Just used their beta scanning thing, and noticed I had an update to do. Cool, right? WRONG!!!
Jesus christ, I thought my PC would die for good! I used the site my friend said, I downloaded the driver and it installed fine. It didn't ask me to restart when the intallation was over, that's what I thought was weird...anyway, I did it manually. When it restarted, the screen was black. It didn't show anything! I could change the brightness and notice the screen changing, but I couldn't see anything. I even typed in the password and it logged on to my user, I know because I could ear the windows sounds. I eventually fixed it, by going to safe mode and uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling the one I had before...whew xD
So that's why i'm here. I wanted to figure out what could have possibly happened, and if this happened to other people as well. Am I supposed to keep my nVidia drivers out of date (is that right? xD)?
Thank you for your time.
