Nvidia GTX 570 Fermi causing fps lag, BSODs

Hi, this is my first post here.

Ever since I've gotten this card when I upgraded my pc (new motherboard, cpu, power supply and video card) it's had varying problems, which are pretty hard to explain. But I'll try my best.

At first, the only problems I got were playing Battlefield Bad Company 2, where (I think) 2-20 minutes into a game the screen would freeze for a few seconds, with looping audio, and stay like that until I used ctrl+alt+dlt. If I opened task manager from there, the game would appear violently flashing white and other colors in the window and I'd have to force close it.

Then, I was urgent to play the Battlefield 3 beta since BC2 was almost unplayable. I had to download the latest Nvidia beta drivers to play, so I did. The first game I played nothing went wrong; but about half way through the second game the current picture would freeze similar to in BC2, then my screen went completely black (like it had been turned off, even though the light was still on) for a moment and bring my back to the Windows 7 desktop. BF3 would remain unresponsive and I'd have to force close it.

After the second day it had gotten worse where the crash would happen within the first game. Also, this same thing would happen when I played any type of flash video. Except when the monitor came back, the video would appear green with audio still playing. I think this might have also occurred randomly on google chrome except nothing broke from it. This happened in other games, too.

A couple days later I started getting random BSODs. They usually happened in google chrome when I was typing something, or closing a tab etc. After the beta was over, all these bugs stopped happening; although I'm pretty sure the BSODs still happened sometimes. When Red Orchestra 2 came out I noticed that I was getting terrible framerates even on lower settings; but they only happened for a second or two and continued that pattern (i.e. my fps would be over 60 then suddenly drop to over 20 then come back up to 60 then drop down to 30 again etc.).

When Battlefield 3 came out, I noticed this happening again. It's much more mild now, but sometimes my screen will freeze for about 2 seconds then come back. Just today, my screen completely froze while I was working Microsoft Office. I just it in sleep mode, and when it came back I got a BSOD right away. When it restarted my desktop backround turned black, so I changed the background to a default one. Then I got another BSOD, and again, my desktop turned black. I was thinking about re-installing Windows but I thought to come here before I try that.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Make sure you do a clean install of the drivers, and not just inplace upgrade.

Yes I installed the new driver, clean install but hasn't done anything. I haven't got any recent blue screens but I'm still getting lots of 10-second freezing and drop in fps.

Monitor your CPU and video card temperatures while gaming if you have not done so yet.

The only Nvidia driver I have found stable is the 275.33 WHQL.
All the newer ones cause me and some others problems.
This may not help you but I thought worth a mention.

The temps are at least worth checking.
