I have just got a new Acer 24" LED 1080p monitor. It has been connected using VGA and the resolution has been at 1920x1080 and its fine and running Windows 7 Aero theme. The problem is when I plug the monitor in with a HDMI cable and set the resolution to 1080p the theme switches to Windows 7 Basic and I am unable to enable Aero at all. Can anyone help with this problem? My graphics card is a XFX GTX260.

Can't believe I didn't check that. Just installed upto date drivers from the Acer website and now it works fine, guess the ones Windows Update installed we're an older version.

Many thanks for the quick reply.
