where have you been looking? I might be able to help you find one that works if you follow the method I suggested in my previous post, then give me the device ID as listed in device manager.

where exactly do i find the device id? i found the vendor

found a fix

I did the device id thing and had no luck with the drivers it found. What I did was goto the hp website and download the Vista 64 drivers. They installed without compatibility mode and worked the first time. After that I download a program called Double Driver and backed up my non microsoft drivers.

good luck hope this helps.

20101110 Win Update NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller

Today in my Win Updates I am being offered a
nVidia - Network - NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller 582 KB

I thought folk here would wish to know it is available.

However, I myself am a bit apprehensive about Downloading and Installing it.
Reading the web there seems to be a lot of problems after Downloading and Installing a Win Update NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller.

I have an NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT but I am not sure that is relevant.

What are your thoughts about this optional Win Update.
Thanks,

Thanks,

Didn't encounter any troubles at the moment on Vista x32bits. Got the same just fews days ago...
It was strange, i was just updating the nForce driver controller to v15.26 Whql for a GeForce 8100, then the day after this update pointed in Windows Update.

Hello NoN, I am always a nervous of getting such 3rd party updates from MSWindows - I hear so many folk have problems with WinUpdates and will ONLY get their updates direct from the NVIDIA Driver Downloads site.
Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Plus I notice you are on Vista x32bits whereas I am using Win7 x64.

What I don't understand is why I am being offered a Networking Controller - I thought my NVIDIA was a graphics card.

nForce is for the mother board - my ASUS M2N-SLI on Win 7 64 is using nVidia's WQHL 15.23 nForce driver for Vista 64 and all is fine
