I have a ATI HD Radeon 5770 now and its causing alot of problems, I want to upgrade to a nVidia card.
I want the nVidia card to do all my current card can, such as 3 monitors (2 at min, but I would rather have 3). Which nVidia card can do all this?

Hello there, well it's not necessary at all to change your video card to a Nvidia one, what issues are you experiencing, it could be driver related, it could be software compatibility related and it could be solved.

In the same category of the HD 5770 would be the GTS 250 or even the GTX 260 core 216!

But there's a catch! the HD 5770 fully supports DX11 and it has newer technology, plus... less power consumption.

Another Nvidia card could be the GTS 450! Fully supports DX11 too.. but let's solve your issues first before thinking of buying a new card

I am discussing my problem in another topic, but basically my card requires more power than my computer has and dell made a specil driver to fix that but that driver is to old and I can't run many games, such as MineCraft.

ohhhh ok ok, but why don't you upgrade your PSU? i mean, you've already have a high end desktop PC. those XPS 8100's have a 350watt PSU, that could be the main issue, you don't need to change your video card, actually, the video cards i suggested as an alternative (GTS 250/GTX 260/GTS 450) need more power, i'm definitely sure that the main issue you're experience is the fact that your PC doesn't have a PSU that handles your Video Card and that's probably it..

1) Upgrade to a 550w PSU with a single +12V Rail. Corsair should be OK!

Well AMD cards are known to require significant LESS power than NVIDIA cards.

So going NVIDIA here wouldn't be such a good idea given the circumstances.

Plus, no NVIDIA card in the market right now can do 3 monitors, you'll need 2 cards for that (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

If I were you, I'd think about upgrading PSU's rather than GPU's.

You're not wrong Slacker! you can't run 3 monitors on a single Nvidia card.. you need 2 cards in SLI for that.. yeah, the same opinion i had.. on this particular scenario, i'd rather upgrade my PSU than my GPU!

Unless it's a really poor 700W PSU, that should be much more than adequate.

Why do you believe that the PSU has anything to do with your problems? Can you describe symptoms?

My graphics card requires 500W, I used to have a 350W.

Is it a decent quality 700W or a cheap one? Total watts don't mean much if it is anything like the 680W one this person has,
