Any chance you can try it in another PC? If it does the same thing there you have a card problem. You did not fill in what model your PC is and another factor could be if you have onboard video which my need to be disabled.

Thanks for the reply , at the moment I do not have another pc to try the card on . The pc I am using was custom made so I am not exactly sure of what make it is , And how would i disable the on board graphics? Also I have just noticed that windows Aero is now working even though the video card still isn't recognized in device manager and I still cannot install any drivers for it . Thanks for your help

Well if Aero is working Windows 7 see's it as capable of doing so that's a plus. I would download CCleaner and DriverSweeper and run them removing all instances of ATi graphics, then uninstall the nVidia stuff as well. I don't know if you are running 32 bit or 64 bit but you will need to download drivers from nVidia Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers. Once you have unistalled and run CCleaner and Driversweeper and removed all of ATI and nVidia drivers shut down the PC and hold in the power button for 30 seconds then let go and restart the PC, it will come up and load the MS drivers then you extract and run the nVidia drivers and go to the Control Panel and Device Manager and choose Display Adapter and update driver and point it to where nVidia extracted it, if it doesn't work then I'd try it in another PC when you get the chance.
