Hi,

My recently purchased Laptop, a Lenovo IdeaPad v570 (1066CLU), has been having problems with the display driver.

After a minute or so of gameplay using the NVIDIA driver, my audio starts to stutter for a few seconds, and finally, it blue screens with "Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed", and something about nvlddmkm.sys. Sometimes the BSoD doesn't even show up. I tried downgrading to the Lenovo recommended driver from the latest build, but I'm still having the same issue.

On some occasions, it doesn't BSoD, so I can alt-tab and see the message:
"Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered".

Even if games are running smoothly, they still have issues. One example is Team Fortress 2, but If I disable the NVIDIA driver in Device Manager, the Intel one works fine, with a worse framerate. Pretty weird. I have both the Intel HD Graphics 3000 and GeForce 525M driver versions supplied by the manufacturer (Lenovo).

I attatched my Diagnosis using the Seven Forums diagnostics tool. If you can help, it'd be much appreciated.

Any help or possible solutions are appreciated.

Its blaming your video card. Are you seeing this message? "Display driver stopped working and now recovered"

Whats the age of it and can you replace it?

You can use speccy to check the temps.
:ar: Speccy - System Information - Free Download

GPUZ is a nice tool for checking the temps as well.
:ar: GPU-Z Video card GPU Information Utility

Do you have an onboard graphics slot? Connect there and see if you're having these issues

Post back.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I've been busy.

Yeah, I'm seeing the "Display driver stopped working and now recovered" message.
I tested my temps not too long ago, they hovered around 50 degrees Celsius.

The laptop was manufactured in January according to the bottom, and I have warranty on it. I'm saving sending it for repair as a last resort, though. :p

If by onboard graphics, you mean intergrated, then yes - that's what I've been using while I've had these problems.
