So i have a laptop.. Acer Aspire 8930G I installed a version of Windows 7 ultimate x64 in 2010.. updated everything then and never updated again..

i installed a few apps recently and i have a habbit of not rebooting but putting the computer to sleepmode.. I think I installed some updates aswell and another app that required me to reboot.

After I did reboot I got a nvvscv.exe error runtime error at my login screen.
And several apps didnt work anymore and didnt show their icon
(after i started the app the icon returned except for the ones that wouldn't run)

another thing i did notice was that my regular program files was moved to "C:\Programs"
And my scrolling on my touchpad doesnt work anymore either.

I got here trough this thread.
http://www.sevenforums.com/music-pictures-video/1684-photoviewer-dll.html
because i have the same problem..
but i don't think its the core problem

I know nvvscv.exe is a nvidia-driver helper and my graphics were working fine before..

I have absolutely no idea what the problem could be, or where i should start looking.

please help and thanks in advance,

When you download and install things incorrectly any thing can happen. Hibernate, sleep mode or my sister was at lunch is not correct as you have found out. The only thing I can think of is go back to a restore point before all this was done. Remove all that stuff that didn't install properly. Then let us know what you are trying to download and install and somebody here will be able to help.
