Oblivion working very slowly

I bought this PC 3 months ago, I installed Oblivion couple days after and it worked all fine, no problems just normal gameplay. But now as soon as I start playing, it for some reason works very slowly, I tried to see if there were any updates for my drivers but it's all up to date. And btw I have NVIDIA GeForce 9200.

Any suggestions?

I think posting your system specs might shine some light on what the problem might be. What about the detail level and resolution you play the game in?

Thanks for the quick response, but I managed to sort out the problem; I played around with the settings and now the gameplay is working as it should, but now the grassland has a purple like colour, which it never had before, when it should look like normal grass, and this is everywhere throughout the Oblivion world.

My specs are:​

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 215 Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 3072MB RAM
Hard Drive: 242 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9200

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)​

I think I found what was affecting the grass colour as well as the preformance; it is the "Video Quality Presets", because when I set them to low then the game runs smoothly and everything looks normal.
