Occasional BSOD ran verifier.exe minidumps attached AVGtdia.sys etc

Hi folks,

Keep getting random crashes then seen online to run verifier.exe which I did and it came up with a few minidumps. It seems that my drivers are all up to date as I have checked them in update drivers.

Please please help, this seems impossible to get to the bottom of!

Driver verified and Related to avgtdia.sys Network connection watcher from AVG


Please remove and replace your Avast with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Thanks so much for your quick reply. DO you mean my AVG? Just to clarify. Just making sure I had no reference to Avast previously on my PC. Also do you think this is the only thing causing the BSOD, I see various minidumps but would love to learn more about these things.

Its my pleasure. I do mean the AVG that is installed on your system. AVG has been known to cause BSOD's on some systems.

There may be contributing factors but there was B&W evidence pointing to it in these DMP's

Its not rocket science but it is a steep learning curve.

ZigZag I think you may have been right here. Uninstalled it and changed to MSE instead and then restarted and ran verifier.exe and this time with no BSOD so I reset it and all seems to be fine. I know its far too easy to speak too soon but I'm sure verifier would have crashed it so thats so much for your help. AVG was something I simply wouldn't have thought would cause a BSOD.

Ill post again in a week or so time to let you know how it's going and thanks again

Unfortunately AVG does often cause them. As does some of the other majors malware apps.

Another BSOD Randomly

Hi again, I was hoping to be posting good news this week until it happened again tonight. Mind you it has not been as frequent since I removed AVG. I have attached the minidump file and any help would be greatly appreciated.

This one seems slightly different than the other I have had before.
