my computer has frozen a few times. kaspersky and malwarebytes found nothing.

when i boot up, sometimes those 4 colored balls that turn into the windows 7 panels don't complete the process and skip ahead to the final logo. is that completely irrelevant? i suspect it is, but thought should ask.

thanks.

For boot problems you could try Startup Repair. I'd suggest running it 3 times rebooting in between each scan even if the scans are coming back with no issues found. You could also look through the troubleshooting guide prepared by one of our Forum experts.

As to the computer freezing, it would help to know what you were doing at the time (watching a video, downloading a file, surfing the net, etc.) You could try running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two) to rule out damaged or corrupt system files. If problems are found run the scan 3 times rebooting in between each scan. You could also look through the general troubleshooting guidelines prepared by the same expert Forum member.

Please post back if any of this helped or not.

the computer froze when using a digital audio workspace that does not overload my cpu or ram and has always worked before. as for boot up, it seems fine except that little skip ahead it seems to do, which may be nothing.

thanks.
