odd crash on startup

Computer is acting up, I restart. It says that on boot up, windows failed to start. I have two options. Startup repair or start normally. Both what happens is it says windows is loading files, then shows the copyright Microsoft Corp and the empty bar, and about a second later, it goes black. That's it. help me! Go easy, I'm not good with computers.

So, it had the same results, but a minutes or two later a low res blue background appears, nothing else.

Okay no problem. Perhaps you could try following this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html tutorial. This should hopefully work. Again please post back with the results.

The tool doesn't actually show up, it just goes black for a few minutes, then the low res blue screen, that's it
