Are the keys from the bottom of the laptop ? To activate the key with the right laptop try using the phone option

@Greg I am having a bit of trouble understanding your post. Are you saying that because I own a legit copy of Win XP that I should be able to use an Anytime Upgrade Key to install Windows 7? I have working Anytime Upgrade keys for Win 7 Pro and Ultimate. Have tried using them to activate before and it doesn't work. I'm confused... Sorry to be a pain, please clarify.

No, Shane, the Anytime Upgrade keys can only be used to upgrade from a lower version of Win7. You first must have a Win7 license to replace Win8. I suggested Win7 Upgrade version since you previously purchased XP and therefore qualify for Win7 upgrade.
