OEM Version of Win7

Hi, is it possible to purchase an OEM version of Win7 (much cheaper in AUST) and do a clean install. I am running Vista on an ACER laptop. Are there any restrictions on the disk that would prevent you from doing this?

The primary restriction is that you will get no technical support and it can only be used on one computer. If you buy a new computer you cannout use the OEM on that computer, even if you no longer use the one that had the OEM, originally. Oh yes, it will not arrive in a fancy box.

no problem cleanly installing an OEM version. The previous poster covered the restrictions associated with the OEM version.

I got a fancy box with a Vista System Builder (oem ) disk inside.

You probably do with 7 too - you just need to keep it on the same machine.

You can upgrade that machine as much as you like. If windows thinks it's on a new machine after an upgrade - ring MS free activation service line.
