if my win7 laptop HD gets corrapted can the OEM CD install win7 in new HD?

Consider taking a backup image of your system
Control panel>backup & restore>Create a system image
That way if you have any serious probs you can restore the backup image to your HDD and be straight back to where you were when you took the image removing the need to ever re-install
This also applies if you change the HDD
