Office 13 Help Viewer nonfunctional

Recently, my Office 13 Help Viewer has stopped working on all the office apps. The message (see attached pic) says The Help Viewer isn't working... I have seen this error in many forums, but no definitive fix. I note in my case, the first time I open an Office program, it works, but subsequent openings of the same program give the message. The message is "permanent" after the first time it is opened.

Any new thoughts? I've seen reset IE, re-register msxlm3.dll plus many other voodoo. I'd prefer not to reinstall.

What anti virus program are you using?. You could also try disabling your anti virus & see if that helps.
