I opened up Word 2007 to find the appearance looking like '98 or something (see screenshot). It does it for Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote as well. I inserted the CD and tried to do a repair to no avail.

Why is this doing this and what can I do to correct it?

Your color scheme is set to black in Word Options > Popular. Maybe silver or blue (which are the other 2 options) would look more familiar.

None of the above answers worked. I decided to do the ultimate and do a system restore. After much hassle with security preventing a restore, I got one to work and everything looks fine now... just need to update my system again...

Thanks anyway. Much appreciated.
