Office 2010 32bit splash screens
Hi,
I'm running the office 2010 suite (32 bit edition) on W7 x64 and I wish to get rid of the splash screens of various office apps especially for that of word which is lengthy for my taste.
I followed the instructions mentioned
on this page exactly, then rebooted, but I still see the splash screens
Is there any patch available or a confirmed working solution?

I have tried the mods listed in your post. What I have found is that changing to
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Word.Document.12\shell\Open\command]
(Default) = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\WINWORD.EXE" /q /n "%1"
command = ykG^V5!!!!!!!!!MKKSkWORDFiles>bi$T!V!0Z={Pk0vm~AZu /n /q "%1"
will stop the splash screen for .docx files when opened by double clicking them.
And changing
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Word.Document.8 \shell\Open\command]
(Default) = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office8 \WINWORD.EXE" /q /n "%1"
command = ykG^V5!!!!!!!!!MKKSkWORDFiles>bi$T!V!0Z={Pk0vm~AZu /n /q "%1"
will stop the slash screen for .doc files when opened by double clicking them.
No need to reboot for either changes to the registry.
By creating a shortcut to winword.exe and adding the /q , a new Word document will also open without the splash screen.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\WINWORD.EXE" /q

I assure you the registry hack doesn't work in my case and I double checked every thing more than once (location of the registry key to be modified, syntax was copied EXACTLY into registry...etc).
The shortcut method works only when I open the program using the shortcut (which I rarely do) but I still see the splash screen when opening the program by opening a word document file (This is the most commonly method I use with office applications, is to launch them after choosing the file I wanna work on which will open the program anyway for me)

I don't know why it doesn't work for you but I have tried it on three systems, (2 x64 and 1 x86). One of the x64's is running Office 2010 x64 as well.
