Hi,

I am trying to install Office 2010 on my Dell XPS 710 running Windows 7 Ultimate (x86). Howere clicking on the file I downloaded from MSDN, I get a message saying it is extracting files and once the progress bar has gone across the program stops with no message or error. I have tried running this program in Administrator Mode but get the same result. I currently have Office 2007 Professional running on this PC. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks Mateen

I have found that if you disable your anti-virus and then wait , it will complete.

Hi, I don't have any anti-virus software running on my PC, but I will take a look at the firewall setup to see if this is the problem. Thanks Mateen

While the installer is extracting, it extracts to your temp folder. I believe, there should be a log file too attached with it.

Are you using the 64-bit version, by any chance? I mistakenly did this on a 32-bit machine and it doesnt flag any errors in the install at all, just stops after extracting the files. There are a couple of errors in the eventlog; 1001 & 1004 IDs in there (registry product components not found)

Current MSDN versions at time of writing

32-bit: en_office_professional_plus_2010_x86_515486
64-bit: en_office_professional_plus_2010_x64_515489
