Office 2010 Professional Plus Installation Problems

I've downloaded a copy of Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit from IUWare. Since it's free to Indiana University students, it seems like the best place to go. It comes as a self extracting archive, and once it's finished extracting the installation starts by itself. It looks like it installs the exact same way as any other source, save the initial extraction.

My problem is that during the actual installation, a message will appear after a few moments saying that the installer can't locate certain files and asks for you to define the path (each time I try to install it complains about a different file). When I browse for the missing file USING THE INSTALLER, it either isn't there, or the installer won't let me click the correct folder. It says "Invalid Location." But if I look for it myself in explorer, it's always right where it's supposed to be.

I've had this problem installing previous versions of office, with both IU sources and others, and a simple re-download usually takes care of it. I've already downloaded this 4 different times and would like to find a fix. I was just wondering if anyone here has had this problem and could help me out.

Type msconfig in run and hit enter, in the system configuration windows click on boot tab, advanced options. In the advance option put a check mark on maximum memory and type 1024 in the box. click apply ok..ok..ok.. Restart your computer and try to install it...

I have had this sort of problem on MS Office installations on both XP and Win 7. In my case I was using the Multi Language Pack to add English menus to a Danish install. The message is "setup cannot find Access.en-us\AccLR.cab. OWP7D2B.tmp" and on checking I find the folder and file is exactly where it should be!
The extra aggravation is that the installation stops dead and if I Cancel to get out of it, the install does not leave any files in place but uninstalls them all

BUT, I found a little cheat that at least preserves the majority of the language install. Do NOT cancel the install when it comes to a halt. Just switch off with all the windows untouched and restart. Then the new language for the menus etc is in place. The first install where it happened was over 6 years ago and MS Office is still fine and I have my English menus in place.
I had to make a new MS Office install two days ago and add the language pack. When it failed as usual, I remembered my little cheat, and it worked fine again
