Hey guys,

Just a quick question on licensing for windows xp mode.

I run windows 7, and use Windows XP mode for an old application. The problem is I have is that for the old application to work fully i need office(word and outlook).

Here is the question. Is there any work around to get office installed in windows XP mode using the same license as the windows 7 install? Or do I need to buy a second license. I use this for work so cant use Home and Student edition for both installs.

Cheers

+1, Jonathan put it short, accurate and correct. Two machines (virtual or real ones), two installs, two licenses.

Hello,
Are you positively sure that the same user on the computer cannot install office in the xp mode windows?

Hello,

XP Mode acts like a completely separate computer in that regards. It would be as if you were installing Office on both your laptop and desktop. To comply with the EULA, you would need to purchase a second license.

Can virtual computers be consired as a laptops?
I recall that some Office (retail?) licences allows you to install the software on your desktop AND your laptop. You can check the EULA of your officeversion from the link below. Cheers!
