Solved Offline Windows 7 updates

Hi All

This was more curiousity than anything else, but I wanted to know is there anyway to do microsoft windows 7 updates offline. Ie download the updates on one computer as msi files or something like that and then installing them on the target computer, which you don't want to communicate with the internet

The computer in question is running Win 7 x64bit.

It is a genuine copy of windows I would just like not having to connect it to the internet in order to update.

I did a quick search on the matter but I couldn't actually find anything

Yes, the tutorial below can help show you how to download the MSU file for a specific Windows Update to be able to install it using the MSU file instead.

I take it by the sounds of that link you will need another computer with win 7 on it to download the msu file? (due to validation required? ) Once you have it you can transfer it across to the other computer you want to update?

Yes, that would be correct. Once you have the MSU file downloaded from another Windows 7 computer with a internet connection, your could use it on another computer to install the Windows Update that the MSU is for on it.
