Recently I reformatted my HDD. I have a HP Pavilion DV7 Laptop, Model number is 3165dx. It had win7 on it before but I was having some software problems. Before I was able to use the touch buttons on the keyboard and it would show up on my screen but it doesn't. I was also able to switch screen using the logo button and tab but I cannot do that either. I updated the drivers on the HP support site, maybe I missed something?

Hi,
Press Ctrl + Shift +Ecs key together. In the task manager, check the process named hpkbdapp.exe, is it running?

As for drivers look for HP Quick launch.

I just found this for you, seems it worked for the DV4 & DV5 series with the same problem:

"This is a strange sounding solution but is tested by me and worked well for me and for many others. The method suggests to shutdown the laptop, remove the battery and adaptor. Press power button for 45 seconds with battery removed. Leave the laptop without battery for few minutes, and then insert the battery again and it will start working.I did try this solution and it worked for me."

Thanks alot for your help. my 3d switch came right back after taking out my battery! I haven't tried the touch keys yet since I'm hooked up to a monitor and key board

The process was not there when I checked though.
