I need a driver for an Okidatata B2200n. I have tried all the compatibility installs and nothing works. The printer in new and I just switched over from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Release Candidate 1 but now I have no printer driver that will work.

Hi. I got the same problem. And I don't have a previous installation to migrate using DriverMax. The action center found the Vista x64 driver with no problems, but no matter how many times I install (have tried the equivalent of banging my head against the wall), Win 7 doesn't recognize the printer. Any suggestions?

If you cant find a win 7 driver the vista driver would work. do a google search and if that doesn't work let us know.

Hope this helps

Thanks for trying but the Vista driver does not work. The printer came with that driver on the CD and I even downloaded more drivers and tried them all. If I could find another OKI printer with the GDI print engine I could use it but none of the drivers for Windows 7 have been written yet using this print engine. Thanks again for trying to help.

I had to add my 3200n through a TCP/IP port instead of just trying to grab a network printer.

add Printer > Local Printer > Create New Port > TCP/IP Port > Put in the IP address / Check like query option > Have disk > Load up Drivers you downloaded earlier.

Solved - but hardly the way it should be

As I was beginning to get desperate to use both my printer and my wireless card (An Abit AirPace WiFi), I roamed the web to try to find a way of solving the issue. It also solved a problem with my Abit µGuru power management system. Although Windows 7 recognized the hardware and Action Center directed me to the correct download sites, the drivers wouldn't install because they weren't signed.

OKI B2200 and printers from the same series don't have drivers that are officially listed with MS yet, so the problem here is apparently also that the driver isn't signed. Here's a workaround: Install Unsigned Drivers on Windows 7 & Vista with Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider
My hardware now works perfectly. However, since driver signing is an important security measure, this is an issue that should get some attention. Some of my hardware comes from Abit, which is now bankrupt and will never pay MS to have old drivers signed. With Windows 7, apparently, one has to check if the hardware is listed in MS's driver database before one can safely buy new stuff.

OKI 5650dn

I'm brand new to win7, Pro 64bit. Along the lines of these Oki printer posts, I have a network, Oki 5650dn printer online. After downloading the latest drivers from the Oki support page, win7 finally recognized the printer when I manually installed it using it's IP address.

While the printer will print, win7 does not recognize the fact that it's a duplex printer and the "select one or both sides" print function is "grayed out." Any suggestions to resolve this issue. I have not yet contacted Oki (I been setting the system up over the past two days.)
