Old CRT

Am I better off just sending it to a ewaste recology center or try selling it cheap to someone who might want it? Although I can't imagine who'd want a hulking CRT anymore these days.

I got one in my closet just in case something happens to this lcd, but the other one I had I recycled.

I guess my main question would is there even a market for a used crt monitor? I know there's some really gung ho flight sim guys with multi-monitors and computers, but I don't think theres much of those guys or gals in my neck of the woods.

I moved last summer and had two 21" CRTs and couldn't even give them away. I recently upgraded my last CRT (a beautiful 22" Nokia) to a big LCD monitor and tried to give the old Nokia to some kids in the neighborhood. They were interested until they saw the size of it and decided it wasn't worth lugging a couple of houses down the road. All of these monitors worked perfectly. My church didn't even want them.

Maybe you'll have better luck than I did, but these three monitors (along with several smaller ones) all ended up next to the dumpster in the hope someone might want them. As far as I know, no one did...

Based on the # of CRT monitors I see on the street, and my bargain hunting friends who see them by the 100's for $5, I'd say there is no market. Even if it is a very high end CRT, you'd have to connect up with the person who'd want it. A Guy
