Hello
Have a nice day ...

I have recently built a whole new pc (every component) except for the hard drive , that is my old hdd from an older pc ...
Its divided in 4 harddisks , c for windows and programs in general and drivers ...
Now i know i should format and reinstall windows , the question is , is that all i have to format , just c? Or should i format all the harddrive?
Because i got confused when i surfed through the net for similar conditions . Am i going to lose my personal data? If i did?
My old hdd is 1 year old ..
And i install win7 by dvd driver ...

N.b: i am not near my pc now , ill do whatever has to be done in few days , but i am making sure of what to expect beforehand ...

Thank you .

You only need to format c if you have data on there you need to get it off first other drives will be OK and no data loss. You can boot a free Linux DVD to copy data off from c just make sure you use live DVD don't install Linux

What samuria said is true but I would make sure you have the entire hdd backed up before you attempt to format any of the partitions. That way if you happen to format the wrong partition somehow, you're data will be safe.
