I know I could just go out and buy a scanner that works, but I do not use this scanner maybe once a year or so...seems like a waste of money. I would like to get it working with Windows 7 Home 64-bit, but it does not even show up as connected to the computer and I know it works because it is connected to a very very old POS Me OS computer. I have the parallel port enabled in the Bios and I've tried with and without an IRQ...no go. Any ideas why Win7 does not see it?

Have you tried with the various settings available in the bios (not just the IRQ settings)?

Maybe check the settings that it is using in the old computer and match them if you haven't.

Then again it could be that it is just too old for Windows to see it and install a basic driver for.

Tried all the settings and it does not find the scanner connected to the printer port. Funny thing is this is a dual boot system WinXP/Win7 and WinXP finds it, but I have never been able to get it to work under XP. Maybe I should give that a try again. Is there a basic driver I could try under XP?

If I was to buy a parallel to usb adapter do you think that would help?
