old Windows Mail can't find database, won't start

Hi folks, I've been trying to get the old version of Windows Mail to run in my windows 7 laptop and I get a message that it can't open the Message Store, and it can't locate the message database. I did the process of direction to the location in the appdata folder, but that didn't help. Anyone still remember how to cure that?

The links didn't help. For one thing the suggestions here refer to Windows LIVE Mail, not Windows Mail! The Windows Mail that came after Outlook Express. There is or was a fix on here on how to hack the old version of it to make it work on Windows 7. I followed that and everything went along as it should from what I could tell, but the exe file couldn't start it.
