I installed Windows 7 on my aunt's P4A 2.8 GHz PC with 768 MB RAM and a GeForce FX5200. It runs fairly well as of now, and all the apparent drivers are taken care of.
The computer is running on the 865PE chipset, for which I see no Windows 7 drivers. I know Windows 7 comes with some drivers to function on older hardware - I successfully used a Duron 800 with 512MB RAM and onboard video because of this once - but I don't know that the PC is performing optimally. Would installing XP drivers in compatibility mode be a wise choice?
