Hello all!
Many wishes for 2017 !
I was using a TP LINK wifi card (pci) but was causing me stability issues on this pc and removed it (software uninstall and hardware removed). But now with the new card my speeds are down to a crawl. I should be getting 800+ kb/s download speeds but i get 80-160 !!
Any advice? Please let me know how i can givee you any further info.

New wifi card is Belkin surf wireless usb dongle

Hi Chris,
whats the part no ie 5100.
you could check that its the latest driver, then look in the properties >> advanced and check the settings there.

Perhaps TP Link left something behind that didn't get uninstalled? It seems to me that one way to check for this is to start up Task Manager and look under the Processes tab for anything TP Link related. You can deactivate it there, but then you'll have to track down the offending file and excise it, or it may reappear.

I'm a musician and a composer, so this PC is used primarily as a digital audio workstation (DAW), so sound is king. I'm also a photographer, so I also make use of it for image processing. I find the ATI Radion on the MoBo to be perfectly adequate in this respect and the AOC 22" monitor to be respectable. It's about time for an upgrade, though.
