Zeroed the HD before trying install?

Removed all but 2gb of RAM to try install? Test RAM with memtest86.

Do you have the latest BIOS update? If so, clear the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Then set the SATA controller in BIOS setup to AHCI first. What are the other settings offered?

I had that problem way too many times since Win2K days... Installation problem = Bad RAM (at least 95% of the time).
