1. do a clean install
2. then format
3. Delete all partitions
4. do a clean install again?

Do a clean install,during the clean install delete all the partitions.


Finish with the clean install and update your windows.


Then install the most necessary softwares and drivers like graphic card etc and ofcurse always update everything.


Then do a system image. (in case you mess up anything you will restore your system in few minutes) Read this carefully and you will understand.

I tried to go through windows setup and delete the partition but it said it was an OEM partition and couldn't be deleted.

I then had a quick look how to do it and done the following:
Went to diskpart
Selected the drive
selected the partition
then deleted it

I now have an empty bit of space of 36gb. How do I combine it with the other 892gb?

Will the fresh W7 installation sort it out or do I need to do something before hand such as part 1 of this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html??

You'll never believe. Reinstalled windows, everything was going perfectly downloaded skype tested video and I got the Kernal message.

I'm now banging my head off the wall. Will contact asus again if not i'll be going down the gfx card route

I've been on with this for so long it's doing my head in/ After 7 months of bickering with Asus, I've finally received a new motherboard. Reinstalled it yesterday and got the same error message I've been getting with the old board. Would this suggest that it is actually software related even though I have already reinstalled on several occasions.

I still haven't reinstalled windows with this new board. Is that likely to make a difference!

It may make a difference. Re-install Windows, and if you still have the same problems after doing so, post back with the reports from the http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html. Even if you are not getting blue screen crashes, those instructions can help find application and system errors through the logs that are collected.
