On lock, password fails, must click switch user and ok

Hi,

just got win7 ultimate, i got it with an admin/admin account, created a new admin account, and then deleted the old one, also changed the computer name etc...

one weird thing happens im not sure if its related... When i lock the computer, or gets locked by scrsaver etc, when i try to logon it gives me incorrect password, i then click switch user and type my password and its ok..

happen to anyone??

yes it was given to me exactly.

its a LG Laptop e500.

Disable the settings
- User must enter password when coming out of standby.
- Screen saver - On resume, display logon screen

The former users password has been entered there, independent of the User Account.

I think there is one more place, but I am not remembering it.

Anyway, disable those. When you re-enable them, if you do, you will be prompted to enter a password.

tks antman, but what about when i leave the computer and press win-l? i get the same error still, and i use it alot...

Have you considered re-installing the OS just in case ... I aint sayin, Im just sayin...

of course..i didnt liked it came already installed but i dont have the binaries of 7 yet

its not a major hassle but still

i wonder if its the keyboard settings..ill change to a simpler password

WOW weird..i try to change the password and it gives me wrong password..i logged off and login and i logged............

anothor annoying thing when i install some apps like visual studio i still get user admin and not my own and i have removed admin user :/

No, not a bug. The easiest thing would be to contact the person who entered the original password.

Visual Studio grabbed the name Admin from the registered user files when installed.

Try this:

Create a new user account.

or

Start, Run - netplwiz

Advanced
Manage Passwords

Could you elaborate more on setting the new password?
I have a very simliar problem: I need to press switch user after the computer was on sleep before I can log in. However, the problem does not occur if the computer was locked (Win+l)...
setting a new password for my (admin) account (while ignoring the warning dialog) did not help.
