On Startup Windows 7 wants to perform a disk check on 'C Drive'

For the past month, my Windows 7 Acer Laptop always asks me when I start the laptop to do a disk check for the C Drive.
If I do not click anything in 10 seconds it will do the scan. But I do not even want it to do that scan, though.
I tried to do some disk checks using ccleaner, Glary utilities 3, etc but it still does the startup scan.

Anyway to make that stop safely?

Hello Schimpfkevin,

If you have not already, it's usually best to let it run the chkdsk scan in case there may be an issue it detected for why it wants to run. Once it has finished, it normally doesn't appear again at startup.

If it does continue wanting to perform a chkdsk at boot even after it had already ran before, then you might see if you may be able to stop it using an option in the tutorial below.

Hope this helps, :)

If you like, you could copy and paste the command below at step 5 in OPTION THREE of the same tutorial above to disable chkdsk for the C: drive.

autocheck autochk /k:C *

However, you should also test the hard drive using the information at Acer below to make sure it's ok.
