I've got 13 or 14 updates which show as failed in my History window. I've downloaded a few manually and tried to install them but I get an error message saying that the updates are not for my computer.

Question: Does WU download updates which aren't compatible w/ my system and as such would show as failed? Or do I have a WU problem? Most of the failed updates are for security issues.

I ran the WU Fix-it tool which wiped my update history but it didn't install any of the updates in question.

Any thoughts on a plan of action, or should I just forget about this?

Thanks for your reply. Since I no longer have an update history page due to using the WU Fix-it tool, I can't do it from there. I did write the KB#'s down though and tried updating manually one at a time. That's when I got the error that the updates were not for my system.

I'll try updating a few by hand again and see if I have any better luck.

Well I downloaded a few of the "failed" updates and I got the message that they were already installed. I may have solved the problem by uninstalling then reinstalling the SP1 update. I guess I'll wait and see.
