One-click selection changes file name

I have my W7 set to select with one click, as opposed to the 'standard' two clicks. The problem I'm having is when I'm saving a new file, I click through the folders to get to where I want to save my file, and when I click into the final folder, which already has some files in it, the name of the file I'm about to save changes to the name of the first file in that folder. I think this is because of the one-click setting... in effect it's one-clicking the first file in the folder, thereby changing my about-to-be-saved file to its name.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm on one click and don't have the same issue. Are you sure your not inadvertently highlighting the first file, as moving your cursor across files in your destination folder will rename the file you're trying to save to the same as the one highlighted.

Yes, that's exactly what was happening. I just have to quickly move the cursor away from the resulting window.

Thanks.

Well, I did some research on this problem for a friend with a German Win7 installation (like mine).
The main answer I gave was the above reference to an English page, of course, but I think the extra information I gave (which I needed to write down for her anyway) could be a nice courtesy for many other users over here, knowing that the translation of the labels from English to other languages is not always obvious.
