I found this gem of a forum when I finally upgraded my computer recently, used it plenty of times, however got a small issue that I thought this forum could out with.

My setup

Dell XPS 8300
ATI HD 5770 Gfx card
Windows 7 Home premium 64bit
Standard widescreen monitor connected to the desktop via DVI from the Gfx card
Widescreen TV connected to the PC via HDMI from the Gfx card

Issue

I use my Widescreen TV (on extended desktop)to watch videos, when my wife also wants to use the computer she uses the monitor to most surf the internet .

On this setup the sound comes out of my Widescreen TV with no issues because I use the HDMI output on my GFX card.

The issue is if my wife wants to use anything that requires audio like youtube, the sound outputs to the TV speakers.

Is there anyway I can separate the audio outputs, i.e. output video to HDMI and output firefox to soundcard/earphones?

Thanks

Ugh, if you have two different sound cards, can do mixing, etc
