When attempting to use any feature that involves the online help functionality, I am confronted with the message:

"You've lost your connection to online Help. Verify that you're connected to the Internet, and then try to connect to online Help again."

The internet connection is perfectly functional. Anyone else encounter this issue or know how to solve it? This is on Beta 1 build 7000.

I performed a fresh install attempting to diagnose the problem, and I believe it might be linked to the 'Troubleshooting' feature in Windows 7, in which the user is asked if they want to go online to seek additional help in troubleshooting an issue. Any thoughts?

LOL, no, I tried that earlier when you first asked this question, it didn't do anything. It might just be something they haven't worked out yet. You could send M$ feedback on it.

I have the same problem--a message on help that I've lost my connection to online Help, even though my internet connection is working perfectly.

I'm assuming related to this, Windows Update says it "could not search for new updates" with an error code of 80072EE2. Disabling Windows Firewall makes no difference. Do others who cannot connect to on line help have the same update problem?

@URTHJ

i can verify that i have the same problem, however my error from windows update is '8024402F' 'windows update encountered an unknown error'

do u also have problems updating windows defender?

No problems with Windows Defender.

I may have (inadvertently?) fixed the inability to use Windows update. I ran: Control Panel - Troubleshooting - System & Security: Fix Problems with Windows Update and after running the troubleshooter, Windows update found one optional update and, just running update again, I got a "no new updates" message (rather than an error message). Maybe it will work for you (and then, again, I'm hoping it will continue to work for me, as the troubleshooter never said it found a problem that it needed to fix)....

I still cannot access on-line help (I continue to get a message that "You've lost your connection to online Help," even though my Internet connection is working just fine).

Same problem here - no online help and it keeps saying the connection to the Internet is lost. My Internet connection works fine for browsing (even through my company's firewall). Windows update dowloaded an update okay so it works as well.
