Only a few websites available, most time out (all browsers, all rigs)

It is a puzzle. I even swapped out the N card in my laptop for a G that I had spare, but still no joy. I'm hoping its just a temporary problem. I can use speedtest.net but I get latency errors on most of the sites worldwide.

I'm finally got back up and running. I checked the security log on my router and had a spike in port sniffing. Got a new IP address assigned and the problem went away. Curious script kiddie? Thanks for suggestions :-)
