Hi everyone,

I haven't used Internet Explorer since i built my PC 2-3 years ago preferring chrome or firefox. The issue is as soon as i click on the IE icon, it flashes open then immediately crashes. I have to be running IE11 for some specific company software.

I raided heaps of other threads to check for fixes and have tried everything I could find. I now at least have IE8 running (slowly) but it opens. As soon as i try an update it to a newer version, the same crash and burn happens again, and i have to go through the process to remove it and go back to 8.

So what I have tried:
turned off all IE add-ons etc.
reset IE from the internet options - advanced tab
unticking in windows features and unticking it from installed updates with all the restarts as required.
A few different IE fixer progs found over at major geeks
Only after doing all this then booting into safe mode did IE8 work.
As soon as I:cry: try and upgrade to 9, 10 or 11 - we go back to the crashing.

Getting pretty frustrated with it, so any help would be much appreciated.
