Solved "Open File - Security Warning" when running a LNK file
Ever since I started using Windows Live Mail, I get the following every time I start it:

Right click the .lnk file and select Properties. Look for a 'Unblock' button and click it. Apply>OK.

I looked on all 6 tabs of WLM's properties dialog box...no "unblock" button.

There may have been some issue with the "Target" or "Start in" path used.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I have this problem with a couple of Desktop shortcuts, and this doesn't work for me. As with the OP, there is no Unblock button.

Double check to see if you are able to unblock the .exe files of these programs instead.
If not, then what is the "Target" used for these shortcuts?
You might see if creating a new shortcut directly from the .exe file may work like it did for the OP.
