I can't seem to open my misc file of pics and have them show up as thumbnails.

I may have a brain cramp, but all that I try just shows larger icons and whatnot.

I had this folder open up with thumbnails pics in Vista. This is how it looks now.

.

I'd like to see that right pane showing thumbnail representative icons of those pics.
Everything I try just adjusts those icons. View and Tools and Folder options do not get me there. Any suggestions?

Hello Caslon,

Double check in Default Programs to make sure that you have Windows Photo Viewer set as the default program with all of it's associations set to it as well. Plus, double check to make sure that you have thumbnail previews turned on for Windows Explorer. The icons will need to be at least set to medium icon size to see the thumbnails.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I'm also using Irfanview as my Default Viewer n Editor .. No problems here.

Set your View to Icons ...
W7 Doesn't know the difference between an Icon and a Thumbnail .

I'm looking how to open the folder and have it take up most of the page with small pics of the actual files. Still having trouble doing that. I opened up Control Panel/Programs/Set Default Programs. I chose Windows Photo Viewer, but that didn't do crap.

I'm looking to have that folder opened and immediately showing thumbnails.

I'm a little confused ..
Thanks in part to M$'s confusion nowadays about Icons <> Thumbnails

With Irfanview set as your Default ...
Can you show a Screen Shot with the View set as Icons ???

Thanks, I got there. Once I shut down and re-opened the folder, it now shows full photo thumbnails.

Great.
If you're a power user and have Photoshop as your advanced Image editor ...
And you miss the ability to Customize your Right Click Context menus ...
let me know.

You can fix this problem in the Irfanview Registry.
