Opera v. 52 - video won't play due to 'server or network failure'

I have a website which a certain page with a media player that is throwing me the message "THE MEDIA COULD NOT BE LOADED BECAUSE THE SERVER OR NETWORK FAILED" and so the video won't play.

Since it works fine on Chrome and Firefox and since I didn't get any complain from my customers I suspect that the issue is with MY Opera (vs. 52).

The video player I am using is Projekktor and it is a compiled SWF app so it needs Flash plugin. I have "Allow sites to run Flash" enabled on my Opera and as far as I know I have the more updated Adobe plugin (PPAPI).

Any idea?

It is possible that the website has some incompatibility with Opera. I suggest you use a different browser. Since you have Chrome and Firefox, it will be easy to use a different browser for this web site.

I alternate between Firefox, Opera, and Brave, selecting the best one for a particular website, if I have any issues with any website.

Yup, that's what I did. The problem is that I am a developer and I cannot say to my customers to "avoid" Opera. I am looking forward to find a better solution.

EDIT: Also since I didn't get ANY complain from my visitors I suspect that the problem is with MY Opera and not with all Opera copies. Does it make sense?

Yes, that makes sense.

You could find out by uninstalling Opera and then installing whatever version of Opera that your customers are using.

The current version of Opera is 53.0.2907.68. So perhaps as update might help.

The current version of Adobe Flash Player PPAPI is 29.0.0.171.

Thank you for the suggestion Ranger... I am already downloading and installing the more updated version. The Flash plugin I have here (I d/l it today) is PPAPI 30, a beta version, but I don't think that it be the issue.

It just occurred me that perhaps it's a Opera overall issue and that the fact of do not get any complain from site visitors doesn't mean that their Opera is working fine. It only means that perhaps they do NOT use Opera!

Check to see if Enabled Opera Turbo is enabled, if so, untick it. Turbo can cause problems with certain sites. To do this click on the "O" on the top LH corner & select Settings then Browser & scroll down to the bottom where you will see Opera Turbo.

You could also try Uninstalling Adobe Flash Player PAPPI from Programs & Features in Control Panel & downloading a fresh copy from Adobe. Sometimes Flash Players can become corrupt & just updating continues using the corruption. This Adobe website should help you.

Follow the steps needed for Windows version & the next one for FP 29 for Opera & Chromium PAPPI.

When downloaded, install it. Do not use a Beta version as these often have problems that are yet to be fixed.

You could try clearing the History as well.
