If you drop a laptop then it shouldn't be expected to work.

Boot into BIOS setup to see if the HD is still detected, under Storage Devices or Boot order. If not you'll have to try to reseat it to see if you can get it detected or replace it.

But you may have mobo or other damage too. Let's hope not, since it's only not able to detect the OS which points to the HD.

If the HD is detected, then I'd try booting into http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html from the disk if necessary to run Startup Repair. If that fails then run the HD maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan
to know for sure the HD's condition.

The hard drive isn't being recognised which means:

1. The SATA/power connector is loose, or
2. The hard disk is damaged beyond repair.

Check the connections again.

Next try running http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html?ltr=S
from http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html on the disk. Report back what it finds.

You can try running it from F8 Repair My Computer but that is on the HD which may not run or be corrupted, so the disk is best now. It is avalilable to download your licensed version and burn with a special tool in Step 6 of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219533-troubleshooting-windows-7-failure-boot.htmTroubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start

Then if necessary test the HD with the maker's HD Diagnostic diagnostics CD scan.

Wait guys it just appeared on my BIOS for a while and it disappeared again

Check for bent or broken connectors on the disk and motherboard.
