can't open if i press

Is there a very small hole on the front of the CD drive?

You may be able to force it open by inserting a wire (paper clip) into that hole.

That hole is to let you get a disk out of the drive in an emergency.

If I had to use the hole every time, I would assume the drive is defective. It's up to you to decide if you want to use the hole each time rather than replace the drive.

You can try to reinstall the drive and see if that helps.

But optical drives are rank commodities--you can expect them to fail over time.

Don't worry. On one of my laptops I leave the paper clip in the hole all the time - since years. The release button did not work since the beginning. Well, now you probably want to know why I did not return the laptop. Simple, I bought it in the US and took it to Germany where it stayed.
